Shrewsbury · Shropshire · home
This is where I live, and where the dogs and I walk.
Hello, I’m Dawn. I’m an Animal Empath, Animal Communicator and qualified Pet Bereavement Counsellor, and Shrewsbury is home. If you’re in Shropshire, in Telford, or anywhere along the Marches, you’re closer to me than most of the people I work with, and you’re very welcome here.
What happens where
The sessions are online. The retreats are here.
It surprises some local guardians that my Animal Communication and Pet Bereavement Counselling sessions take place by Zoom or telephone, even if you live ten minutes away. It’s how I work with everyone, from Shrewsbury to the north of Scotland, and it works beautifully: for a communication I need a photograph of your animal and your two questions, not your animal in the room, and for counselling what matters is that you’re somewhere you feel comfortable.
What does happen in person is the outdoor work. My Canine Retreats take place in the Shropshire countryside, so if you’d like to meet me and bring your dog along, that’s the place to do it.

Two separate services
Which of these is for you?
Animal Communication is a one-hour Zoom or telephone session in which I listen to your animal, living or in spirit, and bring back what I hear. It’s for curiosity, for understanding, for change, and sometimes for saying things that didn’t get said.
Pet Bereavement Counselling is for you, not your animal: a space to grieve in your own way, with someone who takes the loss as seriously as you do. It starts with a free twenty-minute telephone call.
They’re different kinds of help, and you don’t need both. If you’re not sure which you need, say so when you get in touch and we’ll work it out together.

Twenty years in Shropshire
Dogs, horses, and the people who love them.
I’ve worked professionally with animals and their guardians since 2006, and a good deal of that work has been with horses as well as dogs. There are a great many horses in Shropshire, and some of the questions I’m asked most often come from yards: a horse who has changed, a horse who won’t settle, a horse who is getting older. A communication works just the same for a horse as for a dog or a cat; I still only need a photograph.
If you’re local and you’d like to talk before booking anything, you’re welcome to ring. I’d rather you felt sure.
Fees
The same wherever you are.
I don’t charge differently for local guardians, because the session is the same session. Everything is by Zoom or telephone, and you’ll always know the fee before you book.
Questions from Shropshire
Things local guardians ask me.
Can I come and see you in person for a session?
My Animal Communication and Pet Bereavement Counselling sessions are by Zoom or telephone, wherever you live. If you’d like to meet me in person, the Canine Retreats and classes are the place for that, and I’d love to see you there.
I’m in Telford. Is that any different?
Not at all. Telford, Oswestry, Ludlow, Bridgnorth, Whitchurch: it makes no difference to how we work together, because the sessions are online. The retreats are a short drive for you, which is a bonus.
Do you do home visits or yard visits?
Sessions aren’t delivered as home or yard visits. For a communication I work from a photograph, so your horse or dog can carry on with their day exactly as they are.
Can you tell me what’s wrong with my animal medically?
No, and I’d never want you to rely on me for that. If you’re worried about your animal’s health, your vet comes first. I share the impressions I receive as an intuitive practice; I cannot establish medical facts or advise on treatment.
How do I get the dates for the next retreat?
They’re listed on the page as soon as they’re confirmed, and you can ask me to let you know.

About Dawn
A little about me.
I live in Shrewsbury with Millie, my Jack Russell, who appears on most of this website whether she was asked to or not. Mylo, who is in spirit now, is still part of everything I do. I’m an Animal Empath, Animal Communicator and qualified Pet Bereavement Counsellor, and I’ve been doing this work since 2006.
Get in touch
Close to home, or not, you’re welcome.
If you’d like to talk about your animal, about a loss, or about coming to a retreat, just say hello. No obligation, no rush.
