Hello, I’m Dawn.

A deeper understanding of the animals we love.

I’ve spent over 20 years helping animals and their guardians, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that our animals have so much to share with us. Sometimes we just need to become still, and listen.

Hello, I’m Dawn

There was always an understanding that didn’t need words.

From a very young age I knew there was something a little different about the connection I felt with animals. There was a knowing, an intuition, an awareness of how an animal was feeling, often before there were any obvious signs.

I’ve lived alongside horses, dogs, cats, sheep and ducks, and I’ve always been fascinated by their individual personalities, their emotions and the ways they communicate. We’re all individuals, and that includes our animals.

I believe our animals are communicating with us all the time: through feelings, images, thoughts, sensations and subtle impressions. Learning to become still, to listen and to be open to what they’re sharing can bring a much deeper understanding between you and your animal. That understanding is at the heart of the work I do today.

Two ways I may be able to help

Two separate ways of listening. One caring, individual approach.

Animal Communication

Communication with animals living and in spirit.

I create a quiet space to connect with your animal and become open to whatever they may wish to share. It may come through as feelings, images, thoughts or sensations. Sometimes it’s something very simple; sometimes something deeply meaningful. Every animal, and every communication, is different.

Pet Bereavement Counselling

Compassionate support when you’ve lost a beloved companion.

Losing an animal who has been such an important part of your life is deeply painful, and grief is different for everyone. Whether your loss was recent or some time ago, your grief matters. I offer a safe, compassionate space where you can talk openly, be heard, and honour the bond you shared.

Free 20-minute call · first session £80, then £65 · Zoom or telephone, UK-wide

These are two separate services, and neither one needs the other. I’m based in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, but both are online, so wherever you are in the UK, you’re welcome.

Sometimes they do sit alongside each other. Someone coming to me for bereavement support may, in time, have questions they’d like to explore through communication with their animal in spirit. Someone asking me to communicate with an animal who has passed may find it helps to talk about their loss too. If that’s ever the case, we can talk about it together. There is never any pressure to do both.

Listening beyond words

“My greatest teachers, the animals themselves.”

Animal communication isn’t something I can explain with science, and I wouldn’t try to. It’s my intuitive practice, rooted in a deep connection with animals and the feelings, images and messages I receive from them. It’s been part of my life for as long as I can remember.

I connect with animals who are living and with animals who have passed into spirit. I don’t go in with answers; I go in quietly, open to whatever your animal wishes to share.

A communication never replaces veterinary care. If your animal has a health concern, your vet remains the right person for diagnosis and treatment.

Mylo and Millie

My two Jack Russells, and the reason I do this work.

Mylo was my soul dog. We had 13 amazing years together and I cared for him through the last six months of his physical life, and losing him showed me, first-hand, the depth of the grief that follows the loss of an animal who has been such a big part of your life.

I know Mylo is still with me in spirit, still guiding me, and it was Mylo who nudged me towards Pet Bereavement Counselling. Millie is still here beside me. She grieved for Mylo too, in her own way, and she remains a very important part of my life and my work. Her wise message during a communication was: “I miss him, but I’m not missing out”

“Don’t aim to forget. Aim to move forward, and remember.”

Twenty years of learning from animals

I’ve been doing this work since 2006, and I’m still learning.

In that time I’ve helped hundreds of animals and their guardians, mainly horses and dogs, although I work with all animals. Everything I offer has grown out of my own experiences, my training, and the many things the animals themselves have taught me about presence, trust and simply being in the moment.

2006

Qualified as a practising Animal Aromatics Professional, after seeing what self-selected aromatics did for my own animals on the smallholding.

2016

Attended a Canine Flow retreat in Wales. The changes I saw in my two dogs, and in myself, shaped everything that followed.

2017

Qualified as a Master Canine Flow Practitioner.

Since

My Animal Communication practice has continued to develop, and I qualified as a Pet Bereavement Counsellor so I could support guardians through loss.

Canine Retreats

Time to slow down together, you and your dog.

My retreat days are small, gentle gatherings for guardians and their dogs: a chance to step away from the everyday and simply spend meaningful time with one another, outdoors and at an unhurried pace.

Previous days have included breathing and grounding, guided meditation, relaxation, canine hypnotherapy, Animal Aromatics and mindful walking. They’re not training sessions. They’re about connection.

Kind words

From guardians I’ve worked with

“

Dawn helped me shortly before my little one passed back suddenly to Spirit, by communicating with him, and to have his words and message passed on to me left me feeling reassured, comforted and full of love. Dawn delivered the communication with an open heart, kindness and compassion. Thank you.

I cannot recommend Dawn highly enough. I have attended various Canine Retreat Days and currently attend her monthly Meditation and Visualisation Class for Guardians of All Animal Companions. Dawn is a very gifted, compassionate and deeply intuitive Animal Empath. Her work is genuine, heartfelt and truly special. I will definitely be attending more retreats and events.

What can I say, to see it is to believe it. Dawn has the most incredible gentle gift, her work is truly testament to it. I've had the pleasure and privilege of attending 2 Canine Retreat events. Both left me profoundly moved. My dearest companion Myla had the most wonderful time. Dawn's dedication, passion, care, support and compassion has been invaluable through the years.
